Why yes I am attacking the over rated Favre. He is an admitted drug addict. I say the same thing about Rush Limbaugh. All weak people if they have to use the crutch of drugs.

You don't have a clue about what you're spewing. There is a big difference in someone who becomes addicted to pain medication while taking it for a diagnosed medical condition and someone who goes and buys some crack rocks from the dealer on the street corner.

You dont have a clue if you think there is a difference in drug addicts. I wonder if Rush and the sainted Mr Favre got all their drugs legally? Weak people who cant control themselves.

Agreed. One of my best friends died of prostate cancer which spread to his lymph nodes. Before he died he became addicted to whatever it was (morphine?) they were giving him for the pain. He was so ashamed as he was dying that he tried (unsuccessfully) to fight the addiction. Those of us who have never taken prescription drugs can't understand, and we certainly shouldn't consider those who become addicted to be weaklings.

Yep, they're different, all right! NOT! They both have made a decision to use the drugs "recreationally"... after using them for whatever reason, regardless of how they started. They both hide it, and get their drugs by sneaking around! They obtain them any way they can get them, and it is usually through illegal sources (and your maid...).

It also depends on who they are! Some folk are given a pass, or excused, since they are credited with an un-earned halo... (dammit, my back hurts, but i'm not a star...)

You forget that Brett was not only a Vicodin addict, but also an alcoholic. I am not bashing the great Martyrdom that is Brett Favre, but this guy is certainly no poster boy for clean living.

I applaud Brett for getting over his addictions, but let's not act like it was just a minor prescription drug problem. I also have on very good authority that Brett was well known as a lush, and not a very nice one at that. I cannot and will not site my sources, so take them with a grain of salt if you want, but Brett was not the upstanding guy some make him out to be. He has matured greatly, and he is a great guy now, but a few years back that was not the case.

As for Daunte, he may have handled the whole thing poorly, but what the hell is wrong with the kid's parents? This whole event couldn't have been more than an hour long, and the guys Dad is talking about buying a safe? Give me a break, this was an extremely embarrassing situation for all involved, and I will with hold judgment until I hear if Daunte follows through to send the kid something, and what that something is.
