This procedure is called
metzitzah ba'peh and it has been part of the ritual of
brit milah for thousands of years. It is derived from the old practice of sucking poison out of a wound and is actually less painful for the infant than using an instrument.
My six sons and nine grandsons were all circumcised by qualified mohelim using this procedure.
That said, this Rabbi Pischer should not have been performing milah with an open sore and should be prosecuted, sued, and banned from ever attending another bris.

It doesn't matter if it has been done since the beginning of time. It is a ritual that should have gone the way of sacrificing children on the alter. This single case should bring light to a practice that needs to be outlawed for every reason one can think of.
In fact, IMHO, I believe that circumcision will someday be outlawed unless for extreme medical reasons. It is a barbaric practice.

There is no biblical injunction for them to do so as opposed to health professionals.
Obviously practicing medicine without a license and with no clue of aseptic technique.
And the perversion of putting the child's member into their mouths---sodomy!

I agree. This is terrible. The fact that modern parents still allow this is unbelievable.
It is an unnecessary procedure and my heart goes out to the boys who have been mutilated over the years.
