Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't President Reagan the first to introduce guests in the gallery during the SOTU? I don't think I've ever seen it done as well as they did with that moment between the new Iraqi voting woman, and the Marine mom who'd lost her son.

Oh, and BTW, Harry Reid is talking about himself!

I think you are right that it was Pres. Reagan who first introduced guests in the gallery. I don't think the emotional embrace between the Marine's Mom and the Iraqi woman was planned. It looked wonderfully spontaneous to me. So very, very powerful too.
