Oh, I am glad I checked one more time before I went to bed.
Why don't I forgive? I do...but I don't do so until someone shows that they have repented. She has not, but instead said she wishes she had been harsher.
And this is not the first time she has done this. She has published snipes at the President before. She will go for months supporting him, and then at a time when he needs support she will attack him in a sniping way. I don't have time to look up links tonight, but if you go back through all of her campaign columns, you will find a few.
My thing with her is the same as Bill Kristol. Although I might agree with them most of the time, they cannot be counted on as dependable allies.
Now I am going to bed.

If "rich" geezers are to get nothing from Social Security, then why don't we just be honest and include it as part of the income tax, because that's exactly what it would be. Those who insist that the "rich" should pay into the system but get nothing out of it should be willing to acknowledge that what they are supporting is just another massive tax increase for the "rich". By the way, how do you define "rich"?
To: BigSkyFreeper
Oh, they understand it all right! They are just scared spitless that the President is going to have another roaring success without their help, they just can't shut up!

So it's just welfare for old people right? Yes.
If you've ever believed otherwise, you are quite naive, I'm afraid.
Why not do away with the farce and just roll the costs into the general revenue and tax system?
Okay.
Do I at least get a kiss for the d#cking I've been taking since I started working at the age of 16?
You'll have to submit that request to a Democrat.
They're into that sort of thing...

If you are not a rich geezer, the safety net is there, no matter how "at fault" you are about misjudgments or profligacy in your salad years. But most rich geezers, or near geezers, got there by means other than being dumb about assuming impudent risk or indulging spendthrift habits.

I already told you, it was not her disagreement but her attitude. I cannot be any clearer.

let me ask you....if your children of grandchildren do something wrong or something you don't agree with, do you villify them forever or do you forgive them......that is all I say.....you have used one episode in her whole history. To me that is shallow but you are entitled. I feel comfortable with the other Repubs that still call her friend

The best present we could have is the end of Saudi Wahhabism which breeds intolerance and sponsors terrorism. If the Saudis don't establish a free society in their country we will support those who do want one. Its more than boiler-plate rhetoric - above all its a message to the Saudi regime they can't count on our looking away while they embezzle their nation's wealth, deny religious freedom to non-Muslims, and refuse to allow their people a say in who governs them. They ought to tremble in their sandals in Riyadh. I don't think the Saudi princes will sleep peacefully in their beds tonight. Welcome to the Era Of Bush.

I'm not quite sure why Charles Krauthammer said the speech was "pedestrian." I thought it was OUTSTANDING.Well, remember Krauthammer has a much different standard than we do. I would guess he is talking about brilliant prose and momental ideas. I think a State of the Union speech is kinda a Laundry List of things. Tough to make it interesting, but I think the President did that very well.
Krauthammer was interested in the calling out of Egypt and SA, also the warnings to Iran and Syria....says that could indicate that if Syria doesn't do what they said they would do, we could get much tougher on them. And that if the Iranian Students really got rolling on overthrowing the Mullahs we would give help , perhaps!

"how many times in the past has she dissed the Pres? ......I don't see her as a hypocrite....." This is not the first time she has dissed the President. To see her as a hypocrite is not so difficult if you've read what she's written in the past and compared it to what she writes today. It's sad but true.

Another home run. Not with the clerical tyrants but with the Iranian people. A pointed message to Teheran.

It's why the demoRAT party is disintegrating. They let the pervs and whackos take over and no one is fooled by it anymore.
