Since you mentioned GW, I'll repeat that the example he set, especially in his attitude, is a good one for us. He had judges denying the "rights of Englishmen" to Americans. We have judges denying the rights of Americans to Americans. The colonists faced loss of freedom. We face loss of freedom and and unwilling loss of our lives. The stakes are very high.

One thing and I'll drop the Revolutionary War metaphor. Cornwallis had the most professional, highly trained force around, - backed up by a mighty empire - and was supposed to be invincible. The Swamp Fox's informal, ill-equipped militia of volunteers kicked his sorry butt all the way across SC and defeated him many times over. Cornwallis had huge resources, arrogance and power.
