Please freep your lists and your appopriate state locales on freep as well and distribute to others outside of Freep. Have them do the same and ask them to ask others to do the same, etc.
As many of you know, Philadelphia Inquirer columnist John Grogan wrote a column a couple days ago saying, basically that he'd changed his mind on Terri, from advocating her death, to advocating that her parents be allowed to take over her care.
This is a column that should be running in Florida newspapers and elsewhere throughout the States!!! I'm wondering whether others in Florida, etc. could get on the phone to local newspaper editors and suggest that this column be printed -- in the name of equal time, on an issue where most journalists (led by the bloodthirsty Associated Press) have been rooting for the killing (by deliberate dehydration and starvation) of this poor girl.
When local readers call, editors are more likely to listen than when people from other states get in touch.
Grogan's column is great. Here's the first paragraph:
I no longer so blithely believe Schiavo's feeding tubes should be pulled and her life allowed to end. I'm no longer so sure her parents do not deserve a say in their daughter's future. I no longer am totally comfortable assuming her husband, Michael, who now has two children by another woman, is acting unselfishly.
Possible script:
Try starting with an email to the editor of the paper, and the editorial page editor or opinion editor, then follow with a phone call to each.
Phone first to get the name and email address of each.
Then, to each, email
Dear Mr. // Ms. --
I am sending a web link to a very thoughtful column on the Terri Schiavo matter, from a Philadelphia News columnist (Grogan once worked at the Sun-Sentinel -Ft. Lauderdale/South Florida). Originally he sided with Michael Schiavo in the case, but now he has had "second thoughts," as he puts it. Because the perspective he is giving is fresh, and different from that of some of your paper's writers, I am asking that you -- in the name of diversity of opinions -- consider running this column.

That is truly sick! However, at least they are upfront instead of hiding behind 'death with dignity' mottos.
you betcha, links or excerpts are fine and we appreciate it but please, just not the whole article. Thanks for your understanding. We're flattered that you want to post the entire article but if you do, it messes up our stats and we lose track of the number of people reading the articles. We try to determine which articles generate the most interest which helps us to decide the topics of future articles.

I am working off an alternate computer, so I don't have access to links that I could normally provide you. However, there's quite a bit of documentation at http://www.hospicepatients.org/terri-schindler-schiavo-docs-links-page.html that you can probably use in defense of Dr. Hammesfahr. Somewhere on the Internet is information from Terri's early doctors who mention that she didn't need to be suctioned of her saliva. I'm sure googling would be a useful tool also. You can find all kinds of great info that you can link into your arguments. Keep up the good work and God bless you!
There's no need to leave over this. We just got back in the good graces of TEJ. They have been valuable to Terri's fight. Please consider this a simple misunderstanding and continue fighting for Terri.

George W. "Haman" Greer is sufficient reason alone to revoke the Eleventh Commandment, popular with many Republicans.
Hopefully Judge Greer is the Subject of a full accelerated Criminal Investigation for his participation in an Act of Attempted Murder at this time and Heineous crimes against a person with Disabilities!!!!! At the least, they may be active participants in acts of terrorism as well.
Anyone have Greer's email address handy? Would appreciate it!
