And you should also be praying that he is captured by our forces and faces the temporal justice here on Earth that he so richly deserves, and you should also be praying that he repents of his sins and accepts the salvation of Christ's sacrifice, before he ascends the gallows.
This is not that difficult to comprehend. God's justice and Man's justice are two different things, totally orthogonal to each other, both of them ordained by the Author of Creation.
Forgiving your enemies doesn't mean asking that they not receive just punishment, up to and including the death penalty when warranted. It means letting go of the hatred in your own heart and praying that your enemy will receive Christ and be made whole and perfect before God after his death.
