I hate the "Masonic" Conspircy theories.

They're a mixed blessing. On one hand, they can be a real nuisance. But on the other hand, like I stated earlier, they're free advertizing. I've lost count of the brothers who've said the they didn't seriously look into the Fraternity until after they had read the claims of the anti crowd. Then, after finding their claims to be so much bunk, petitioned a Lodge.

The very people who wish Masonry's demise are helping to keep it alive. Oh, the irony!

Now if y'all don't mind, I'm off to shape-shifting class. 8^P

I grew up knowing hundreds of Masons and Shriners;many of whom I was related to by blood and one of whom was my Methodist Minister, who was NOT of the touchy feely,PC kind at all. Not a one of these good men was a "bad apple." As a matter of fact, the higher degree they held, the more moral, religious, kind, intelligent, and moral they were.

I abjure conspiracy theories and those who believe/repeat them,I find to be reprehensible, sorry excuses for human beings.

That being said, Askel 5 at least makes arguments based on his/her belief instead of the usual drooling ranting conspiracy crap I usually see on these threads

Now here you have lost me, I would say that Askel has been doing the usual drooling, ranting, and conspiracy crap.

But thanks for you opinion.

I have re-read the posts in question and have re-considered my statement-

Askel is definitely off the deep end.

Thanks for prompting me to read with more critical eyes

Wrong most of this symbology wasn't even thought about until the Shrine came into existance. Which was much later then the 1700"s. Go to www.masonicinfo.com and you will find out anything you wish within reason.

The elements that compose the symbols have been around a very long time, like the crescant moon and scimitar representing various aspects of Islam.

All I am saying is that there is nothing *sinister* about the use of the cresent as a symbol. It does not mean that the Freemasons have any ties to Islamic societies, though there may have been some at one time.
