It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
Jack@$$ needs to go home.
Well put!
Well, color me amazed.
NY Times Headline:
"Big Turnout In Baghdad Points to Success in Iraq Voting"
I'm so thrilled to wake up to this news. What a grand day. When I fell asleep around 5:00, MSNBC was showing empty polls and saying no one was showing up.
Of course, they didn't mention there were 30,000 OTHER polling places in Iraq that surely must have had lines and a lot of people show up if 72% of the eligible 14m voted.
Simply stunning.
Yep, I'm stuned.
Amazing! What's wrong with the Times? : )

Ok... I gotta do it...
I'm series, this is HUGH.
PEST is really getting to them I guess.
What is PEST?
It's a wonderful day for the Iraqi people.

You've got to be kidding me!
There is an Iraqi who registered his new party in the elections..
Tawfiq Abbas al-Bidari said that his party, Free Republic, had registered to participate in the governorate's election, only to find that it was not on the ballot today,
Free Republic.....LOL!
And I didn't even mention the photo the Times has up
Picture of young boys playing soccer in a main street.
Caption:
"Streets in Baghdad were closed to traffic but full of
children playing soccer."
Almost time for Kerry on MTP. This should be interesting.
It is a wonderful day.
I feel like a proud parent who has just watched their child achieve something great! I can't stop smiling!!

Dowd's column on this should be an interesting read.
