It is now 3 am in Iraq the polls will be opening in the next few hours as the world watches and hold's it breath. Iraq is about to undertake a historic vote.
Lets wish them well....... please post all comments and election photos to this thread.
They'll just keep moving the goal posts until they get the spin they want.
What a bunch of whiners.
How can anybody with a soul look at the expressions on the Iraqis' faces and feel this war was wrong? These people are experiencing freedom for the first time in their lives. Some of them are weeping with joy and the smiles are those that light up the entire face.
Anybody who can seek negativity from this has to be the biggest loser, self-loathing, misanthropic scumbag who hates freedom and democracy.
They're no better than the terrorists, for crying out loud.
I know its unfortunate, Bush just can't win no matter what.
Kerry will be on the Sunday talk shows this morning. It will beibteresting to see his take on the vote. He can provide insight on concession, malfeasance and vote fraud..
Are they still refusing to call Ohio for Bush?
q: Is the election not going to work because of the divisions in the country?
a: The election is already working- because for the first time in thousands of years the people of Iraq are human beings, forming their own destiny.
Guest went on to talk about how he could not travel to a US city to vote but all of his family left in Iraq had gone to the polls today. (He was choking up.) She was trying to move him on, but he wouldn't stop talking until he said words to this effect.
"The sacrifice of the young men and women of the military has not been in vain. Democracy is growing in Iraq like a tree. Their blood is in the soil of a democratic Iraq today."
"....the man replied no he cannot vote, but this will always be a day that he and the baby will always remember."
Iraq....the next generation.
Van Hipp was just on Fox and his contacts are telling him there are 800 in line to vote in Fallujah.
I can't stop smiling! What an incredible day!!
Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice will be on Fox News Sunday. THAT is who I am going to watch. I will read Alas, Babylon!'s thread for Kerry news...I can't stand to watch him.
I imagine there will be an angry editorial. It will say, "60% voter turn out means this most recent Iraqi election is a catastrophic failure when you consider that under Saddam Hussein 99.999% of eligible Iraqis voted."
There will probably be a "news" story saying that the voter turn out was "low" because "American soldiers intimidated Iraqi voters."
The goal posts are three miles outside the stadium with these liberal idiots.
Somebody mentioned that they were almost to the point of playing the funeral dirge on CNN. I wonder if we can expect to see black armbands at some point today.
Good Morning all! Just awoke to let the boys out.
Looked back through this thread and WOW! is all I can say.
The Iraqi people are FREEEEEEE!!!!! The pictures are great!
But who in the world is Denny Crane? Have I missed something?
Are they using butterfly ballots in Iraq?
Just watched CNN, "will american deaths cast a shadow over the bush legacy"..or some such tripe. They're really scraping the bottom.
Good summation of the enemy within. Expect much more negativity.
Denny Crane: "I want two things. First God and then Fox News."
Me too... who is Denny Crane?
Kerry's timing impeccable (for us), once again.
Making themselves more irrelevant, if that's possible.
Newsweek reporter on Fox now, "I have to say, it's going better than I thought it would." Hehehehehe.
