Maybe the fears of a bloodbath were greatly exaggerated. Its Iraq's longest day. I believe in the power of freedom - it lights a fire in the minds of men and burns those who oppose its spread.

A great point. When watching the coverage earlier I was thinking (sarcastically) "Gee, too bad their democracy couldn't begin nice and peacefully like OURS."

Wouldn't it be something if the bomb bursts didn't deter the voters but instead increased the turnout. Absolutely!!

She mentioned the voters crying with joy. She's beaming.

I wonder if President Bush is up watching the coverage. If so he must be proud. I was just thinking that too. I'm glad to be alive to see and hear these things.
I couldn't help but cry when the Imam quoted MLK 'We're Free At Last'.

CNN had much better pictures of other polling places in the country, not just Baghdad.......switching back and forth

I love her. I have seen her before. She is a very impressive woman. She is Iraq's Condi Rice.

This is amazing to watch. God bless our soldiers helping to make this possible, God bless our courageous President, and God bless the Iraqi people, who are taking the opportunity for self-determination and running with it. This is wonderful to watch!
