What really upsets me about Kennedy is that there is a pic of him with the Pres., taken shortly after 9/11 I think, where the Pres. has his hands on Teddy's shoulders and they're both smiling. And in one of his speeches right after 9/11, the Pres. publically thanked Kennedy for being with Laura as it was happening. Now Kennedy just seems to constantly stab him in the back. I wonder if the Pres. is upset about it?

You know, alcohol is a cleanser, so Teddy's germs have probably been neutralized. :-)

At the beginning of this Bush administration, GWB (and his family) made a genuine attempt to reach out to the Kennedys. I'm not sure exactly why. In the early days, the President's first priority was the No Child Left Behind Act. GWB knew Kennedy would kill it through filibuster unless he could somehow be brought on board. Maybe that's why. Or maybe we in the general public will never know. In any case, Ted's response to all of GWB's graciousness has been vile. I doubt very seriously GWB is reaching out to him anymore.
