The Creation account in Genesis has many things which conflict with evolution.

1. Plants created on day 3, Sun created on day 4. If these days represent long periods of time, how could plants live without the Sun?

2. Birds created on 5th day, land animals on 6th. Evolution says birds evolved from land animals.

3. Man created from the dust of the earth in the image of God. Evoluton says he evolved from some lower life form.

This is the plain and rational reading of the Genesis account.

Evolution and the Bible are incompatible.

The Sun was created on day one and in Genesis 2 the animals were created AFTER Adam. You remember, to give comfort to him.

Yes, what you say is true. Up until The Traveler from Dogma City arrives at "This is the plain and rational reading of the Genesis account." By enforcing that dogma you can own "truth".

And like Ichy and the Ichy-ettes, throw the term "liar" around as well as any inquistor threw "heretic" at Galileo.

Sorry, in order to believe your "plain and rational" interpretation, I have to deny too many other things that God has made visible to mankind, and simultaneously conclude that He is perverse and misleading. SO -- from a clear and rational point of view, there is clearly something in how Genesis was written that we need to reassess. The mistake and challenge is ours, not God's.

You didn't address two points: 1) Sun-centered solar system incompatible with the Bible; and 2) 10:2 Ecclesiastes that in any "clear and rational" reading says that people shouldn't opt to veer to the left, but should always veer to the right. (Of course, I take it to mean that God says liberals are fools! ;^)
