1. The Shroud, as well as the search for pieces of the Noah's Ark, is proof of only one thing, the tenousness of man's faith. If a material object is necessary to reaffirm one's faith, the purpose of faith is defeated.
2. Matthew, Mark, Luke and John actually aren't a good basis for the authenticity of the Shroud. The only one who was possibly a contemporary of the Prophet Immanuel was John and only that as a 10 year old boy.
