These days leading up to the election in Iraq are getting so much more violent, it is heartbreaking to read of so many casualties. Thank God and huge prayers for our troops and the Iraqis who are pressing on with it, at great risk to their lives, to be a free country.

Hi Billie! I got back to Iraq almost two weeks ago. I was a little apprehensive about the timing, but now I'm so glad I came back when I did. Ths is actually very exciting....history in the making! Seeing the birth of freedom in a long-oppressed nation is a thrill I never dreamed I'd have.
We are praying for our troops, especially those who are guarding the polling places and for the brave Iraqis who are defiantly going to exercise their right to vote under such harsh and threatening circumstances.
I had plenty of Mexican food and cold beer (and margaritas!) on my nice long home leave and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was one of the best Christmases I've ever had, and I've had some good ones. Thanks for asking.
