Associated Press

GLENDALE, Calif. - A Metrolink commuter train derailed early Wednesday in this Los Angeles suburb, and firefighters were searching through the wreckage.

Think about it for a moment, do you really thing the media would go out of it's way to say that someone was a citizen of this country?

Yes --- the media would if it were an immigrant from any other country. If a German tourist did something this hideous --- yes it would be mentioned it was a German tourist, if a Russian refugee had done it --- yes that would be mentioned. Not a political correct protected group -- and illegals are about the highest in ranking with that. For some reason it's more politically correct to believe that the guy was an American hispanic whose family has lived north of the border for centuries.

You do know that there are plenty of folks in the US with Hispanic surname that are perfectly legal--been here for generations.

And for some reason --- it's okay to suspect any vicious criminal is one of them --- but NEVER EVER EVER think it could be an illegal or a recent arrival from Mexico --- even when that is far more likely.

Alvarez, 25, described as a devotee of ancient Mexican rituals,

So he wasn't here to assimilate or work hard for low pay like people claim they're all here to do. This is a perfect example of how pathetic our immigration policies are --- we're bringing in the world's worst losers.

I saw the interview tonight with his brother....He said he had a drug problem, a drinking problem and had broken up with his wife/girl friend recently.....O.K.....I guess that qualifies you to go out and derail a train and kill several people. This f'ing whack job should be hung!...be he won't be, because it's not politically correct to be to harsh on illegal immigrants. This is a farce!...probably won't even do any jail time. They will just deport him and he will be back in one week.

Not to worry, the ACLU and Human Rights groups worldwide will keep an eagle eye on Alvarez to make sure he gets the best of care and legal defense....and at taxpayer expense, too. Maybe his family can sue California for not preventing this. If they complained to social workers/cops that he was dangerous...what about that restraining order the wife had? They'll sue, sure as God made little green apples. And they won't be the only ones to sue. Alvarez will be a gold mine.

Ignorance?

I'm saying it could be either and recent (illegal) arrival or a long time US citizen. I just don't know why you folks are always so sure it is an illegal. C'mon--if there is a story about a traffic ticket you guy start ranting about illegal immigration.

And, yes, illegal immigration is number 1 or 2 on my list of our top problems in this country. Still, there is no reason to get stupid about it.

Get with the program....The media is not giving you any idea of the massive number of illegals all over the United States..so the chances are better than excellent that this poor soul was illegal. The problem was that he decided to take his stupidity out on several commuters heading for work at 6:00 a.m. in the morning....Personally...I don't care if he is an illegal from Mexico or an outstanding citizen from Glendale...he needs to fry!

This morning one of the MSM local news shows mentioned the murder of a good looking blonde coed and then briefly mentioned that the suspect fled the country, but no mention of the country. Another loser slash revolutionary of the leftist fantasy type commits mayhem and the MSM hacks in deference to their vanity skip half the story, a freaking disgrace, but only half as bad as the "conservatives" who are shilling for Bush's border blunders.

It's easy to speculate that the worst criminals are recent arrivals if you live in a place where the old time hispanic-American types are a pretty upstanding type of people but the worst criminals come directly from Mexico. That doesn't mean he couldn't be from one of the old Spanish families --- but the odds are he's not.

It's not at all different from hearing of a Jabeel Mohammad Washington type criminal and thinking he's likely from an inner city ghetto than from a hard working middle class black family living and working in the suburbs.

Not a clue. I'm baffled. Please explain!

He had an SUV - a big, expensive one. He had a driver's license (found at the scene). Seems he's listed in the phone book. He lives in a Hispanic-dominated area.
I see a lot indicating he's legit. Care to explain why you think he's not?

Karl, great catch. Does anyone know what USCM stands for? Is this a mental health facility? Did a search and didn't get too far. Doesn't look like they booked him at LA County Jail though.

Not all Hispanics cause mass murders or train wrecks. Of course. To suggest such a thing, that all of them do, is nonsense.

However, on the other hand, all illegal aliens from whichever country, are violators of US law. There is not one single illegal alien who is not a violator of the law. And there is not a single illegal alien who has a right to be in the United States. All illegal aliens in the United States have not been screened by US Consular Officials as to their true identity, drug offenses or addictions, past crimes or criminal connections, gang or terrorist affiliations, communicable diseases, financial stability or mental status.

These are rational points. And there is nothing racist about it.

I wonder if someone robbed the Glendale train?

This morning at half past nine?

I can't remember any more of the lyrics, or I would make lots more clever posts. All I can remember is something about "..and I swear, I ain't lying".

Who did that song, btw? I just can't remember.

New Riders of the Purple Sage, I posted that before I realized the severity of the crash.
My prayers to all those affected by the crash.

Hi FITZ

Personally, I don't care if the guy is a church deacon who can trace his lineage to the Mayflower, or a purple, three eyed alien from another galaxy. Anyone who does something like this, deserves the worst possible punishment.

My post however, and I probably was not clear on this so my apologies, was just trying to get across that I didn't believe the MSM would report something that wasn't news worthy.

As you said in your post, they would have immediately reported if the person was a German tourist or Russian refugee because that would be out of the ordinary, as would be if Juan Manuel Alvarez were in this country illegally. I am of the opinion that nothing has been reported because there is nothing to report. The guy's a nut job who shouldn't be allowed out in public, but I think he just happens to be a citizen of this country.

The MSN being what it is, there is a very good chance that I could be wrong, and that they have been "spiking" the information. In that case, I will make a declaration on this forum that I was wrong. That's about all I can do because I don't think I can be anymore against illegal immigration than I already am, or hold a lower opinion of the MSM than I already do.

Please, don't anyone get too worked up over my post. It's just an opinion. One that some may share and others may not, but it is an opinion that is only correct for me.

Thanks for the comment FITZ, I appreciate the dialog.

Best Regards

Sergio

Ignorance?

No, ignorance is an attribute that is characteristic of those who ignore the dangers inflicted upon our society by massive illegal immigration.
