This "disease" is largely (and there are a few exceptions) but largely... TO MUCH TV ... not enough structure and discipline in their lives.

This combined with Teachers who are either banned by their school districts from disciplining problem children or are so far left they actually think teaching a child discipline is child abuse.

I am beginning to notice that my 8 year old has problems with processing directions when given in sequence rather than one direction at a time. For example, my son cannot compute "wash your face, brush your teeth and get your pajamas on". For him it has to be "wash your face". After the face washing is done we go to the "brush your teeth" and so on. He says that when he is given directions in sequence that he gets them confused. I have also noticed that he is very forgetful of the most simple things. Unless he is in a strict structured environment he does not do well.

He does not spend hours in front of the television. On the contrary, it is very rare that he wants to watch television at all. No video games during the week so that isn't the culprit. He doesn't munch on sugary stuff, just fruits and raw veggies, so that's out. These behaviors are really just now beginning to manifest themselves. I have thought of having him tested but don't know exactly how to go about it. I don't want him diagnosed with something he doesn't have thus no solution to the real problem if there is indeed one.
