The Europeans might as well sacrifice a virgin to the global warming god for all the good Kyoto would do.

Kyoto would theoretically lower the temperature of earth by between .06 and .1 degrees F. I forget how long it will take for that to happen, but it's awhile.

Even if you accept that the Earth is warming, human sources of CO2 are so small in comparison to natural sources, and Kyoto would reduce such a small percentage of the human sources, that it's unlikely to have any substantial effect, as you say.

Kyoto is a pointless exercise.

And why wouldn't the British welcome having real summers for a change???

Kyoto protocols, if everything went as expected, would reduce global temperature 0.1 degree celcius by 2100.
