I'm not skeptical. January is definitely my least favorite month.

Jan. 24 called worst day of the year Isn't today the day the Dems with the help of Bobby "Sheet" Bryd and Bag Lady Boxer try to block delay Condi's nomination as SOS ??

The Brits have truly lost it. They can't stand the notion that anyone could possibly be happy with life, so they create crapola like this.
Another article in the Telegraph Online is a Chicken-Little effort to scare people into the global warming nonsense. They have "politicians, business leaders and leading scientists" all proclaiming that we are less than 10 years away from "global warming" because of a reported "2 degree C" rise in temperature on the earth.
Of course, as we know, the actual fact that there has been NO increase in temperature recorded since the mid-20th century doesn't make a dent in these folks' pea-brains. They're going to run around crying that the sky is falling.
This is getting fun. Y'all have a great "Most Miserable Day" of the year.

Let me see...the temperature is hovering around zero, the Steelers lost (I'm not a fan but my wife is), there was a water line break over the weekend and my street is 18" of solid ice from curb to curb, except for the 3 foot wide 'creek' that's still running down the center of it. And..it's a Monday. What the heck do I have to be depressed about...? Global warming?

Bush has been newly re-inaugurated and there is lots of fresh snow on the ground. How could anybody be depressed at such a beautiful time of the year?
To: churchillbuff
I was hardly awake at 4:30am and realized I was crying. Yep, it's the worst day of the year in a way and then the best day too.
We take our daughter to her Air Force basic training today.
Gonna miss her being with us..........but we are so proud of her.
Her freeper name is KB4W--If you would, send her a freepmail and wish her the best :)

It's depressing for me. It's my first day back to work after being in DC last week on vacation. There is a silver lining, though. I work today and tomorrow, then have 8 days off. I don't know if I can handle it.

I'd be happy if we went right from Christmas one week to Easter the next and skipped Jan, Feb, and March.

February is mine...cold, dreary and getting close to spring. For a 28 day month, it seems like the longest one. Guess thats just impatience on my part.
Nothing to do but tie some flies and wait to get back on the water....

Is the midwinter weather wearing you down?
Yes. I was supposed to get some blood work done this morning at the hospital. It was so cold outside that my door locks were frozen solid. I finally got into the car and the battery was nearly frozen, the engine oil was thick and it wouldnt start.
Tomorrow should be in the 40s, so no big deal.
