I'm not skeptical. January is definitely my least favorite month.

Jan. 24 called worst day of the year Isn't today the day the Dems with the help of Bobby "Sheet" Bryd and Bag Lady Boxer try to block delay Condi's nomination as SOS ??

It's 15 below here as of 6:15 am. No time for depression as the cabin fever has taken complete hold.

The Brits have truly lost it. They can't stand the notion that anyone could possibly be happy with life, so they create crapola like this.
Another article in the Telegraph Online is a Chicken-Little effort to scare people into the global warming nonsense. They have "politicians, business leaders and leading scientists" all proclaiming that we are less than 10 years away from "global warming" because of a reported "2 degree C" rise in temperature on the earth.
Of course, as we know, the actual fact that there has been NO increase in temperature recorded since the mid-20th century doesn't make a dent in these folks' pea-brains. They're going to run around crying that the sky is falling.
This is getting fun. Y'all have a great "Most Miserable Day" of the year.

It is the pit of winter, after all. Dark, cold, and raging cabin fever all conspire to destroy one's natural sunny optimism.
This morning the temperature dipped below freezing in the northern portion of the Tampa Bay region. The long-term inhabitants are whining because it is so cold, but at least they aren't shoveling sidewalks. They still seem spectacularly unimpressed with their good fortune.

Interesting to note, that statistically the first day that the average temperature in Boston starts to go up is the 23rd of January. (Not that it's noticable this morning!)

Let me see...the temperature is hovering around zero, the Steelers lost (I'm not a fan but my wife is), there was a water line break over the weekend and my street is 18" of solid ice from curb to curb, except for the 3 foot wide 'creek' that's still running down the center of it. And..it's a Monday. What the heck do I have to be depressed about...? Global warming?

Bush has been newly re-inaugurated and there is lots of fresh snow on the ground. How could anybody be depressed at such a beautiful time of the year?
To: churchillbuff
I was hardly awake at 4:30am and realized I was crying. Yep, it's the worst day of the year in a way and then the best day too.
We take our daughter to her Air Force basic training today.
Gonna miss her being with us..........but we are so proud of her.
Her freeper name is KB4W--If you would, send her a freepmail and wish her the best :)

Well, at least things will be better tomorrow. In fact, it is about this time of year that I begin to notice the lengthening of the daylight, the winter holidays [Christmas, New Years Day & MLK day] are past so work schedules become more regular and the kids are back in school and not under foot. January 24 ain't bad at all.
