The Oilers and the officials got awfully sloppy in that game in the third quarter, and it allowed Reich, who is known for another legendary comeback (in college, with Maryland, against Miami) to get the team back in the game.

Poor kickoffs, coverage and a blown call by an official cost the Oilers dearly as Reich brought the team back.

Don't want to take anything away from Reich and the Bills, but they had some serious help.

True, but you take advantage of the breaks you get...

And the fact that they were at home really phased the Oilers. In the 90's, NOBODY could beat Buffalo at (then) Rich Stadium.

BTW, the week after that miracle comeback, Reich and the Bills went into Pittsburgh and dispatched the Steelers 24-3 (!) in one of Cowher's early home playoff losses.
