Oh well, it's Philly, go ahead and make him mad.

LOL. Philly is in for a pretty long day, if the Pats play anywhere near their incredible ability.

*********

By the way, it is now being reported here in Pittsburgh, and it is true because I heard Ben say it himself moments ago...........he played the whole second half with two or three broken toes on one of his feet. He supposedly had them broken at the end of the first half........

Yoi!

Parcells won that one with smoke and mirrors I went back and looked at the stats for that game, the Giants had something like 40:00 time of possession.

Sometimes it breeds an unwanted rigidity and conservativism in folks.

True..but in that old bastards case it's senility and hatred.

Once a grand kleagle, always a grand kleagle!

At the NFL level give me a quarterback with big brain over a big arm.

Bradshaw??

Would he fit the bill??

Theismann "won" Super Bowl 17 over Miami by handing the ball to John Riggins.

My wife and I were discussing the Greatest Redskin SuperBowl play and we both independently came up with that one.

He made the plays when the Steelers needed him to.

I think it's one of the top Super Bowl plays ever. Then the Redskin defense stops Miami (like they did for the entire second half of that game) and then the Hogs took over with a clock killing touchdown drive to put the game away.

The Redskins defense was really coming on.

They were #2 in the leage for almost all of the year.

Gibbs just needs to get that offense going.

He will, I assure you.

The Brunnell thing looked great on paper but turned out to be a disaster. By the time he corrected that situation, the season was all but over.

Still, in the mega-weak NFC, if Gibbs could have gotten to 8 & 8, he might have gotten into the playoffs.

It's amamzing when you think about the success Gibbs has had as NFL head coach and in NASCAR. The guy just knows what it takes to win.

I've still got the tape on that game. I ought to get it digitized.

Anyway, I've also got one titled "The Quarter".

Do you remember which game that was?

Well in Super Bowl 22 they scored 35 points in the second quarter against Denver. Is that the one you're thinking of?

Montana driving 80 some yeads for the winning score with virtually no time left against Cincy is way up there in my book too.

It's funny that Montana won three Super Bowl MVP's and yet the Super Bowl he'll be most remembered for is the one he didn't win the MVP.

On the down side, Gibbs won two of his Super Bowls in strike years, not exactly full seasons. And his third happened the year that both Philly and SF were using third stringers at QB for much of the time and just missed the playoffs. The Giants were in the midst of a QB feud. Plus, the Dallas dynasty was still a year away which left the Detroit Lions as the Skins main competition in the NFC playoffs. The epitome of a mediocre team that won in the dome games and reeked elsewhere. And the AFC was still in the midst of pathetic streak.

Gibbs was more the master of slipping through the cracks in the off years than someone who's team dominated the league. Nor did Gibbs get to the Super Bowl without home advantage all the way. If the Skins had to go on the road, they just didn't go to the Super Bowl.
