The Eagles do have a great fight song however. So far they have that in the + catagory.
Otherwise, i really do not see ho wthe Eagles can pull this one out. They do have a good secondary and good linebackers but are they that much better than the Pats that it would make a huge difference?

when you talk at all, you bring a mark twain quote to mind. -- I think that "flirting" comment may be adapted from Twain!

but I forgot - you know more about football than the longest tenured head coach in the NFL. -- You give me too much credit.

You seem like a nice enough kid, remember Robert Byrd has a sh*tload of tenure in the Senate too. Sometimes tenure will work against a person. Sometimes it breeds an unwanted rigidity and conservativism in folks.

;-)

Speaking of "knowing more", you may enjoy this quote from QB and sports analyst Joe Theisman on genius and football:

"The word 'genius' isn't applicable in football. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein." LOL!

Here, have another one from Don Shula on the subject of luck in football:

"Sure, luck means a lot in football. Not having a good quarterback is bad luck."

LOL!

I think this whole TO story is just something for the media to talk about during the bye week.

McNabb doesn't have premier receivers, if TO doesn't get back in the lineup he's stuck with the same set of also ran receivers he had last year, that same set that has caused their RB and TE to be the biggest pass catchers on the team.

Chuck Noll spawned a few good coaches, I think.

Montana's the best.

Yeh, my wife wanted the shirt off his back.

Ah yes the combine workouts. I'm sure every Eagle fan remembers Mike Mamula very well.

At the NFL level give me a quarterback with big brain over a big arm.

their RB and TE to be the biggest pass catchers on the team.

Many successful teams have success throwing often to RB's and TE's. It's not all that unusual to do this.

Many teams do succeed with throws to the RBs and TEs. But you said the Eagles have premier receivers, they don't.

Didn't Edwards play for our man Chuck?

The coaching tree gets even harder to track when you include their players.

Montana wasn't taken until the third round by San Francisco in 1979 and he went to Notre Dame!

The Iggles will need a lot of turnovers and to control the clock, that is the only was I see them winning.

I would be shocked if they win in a shootout with TO cotributing in a major role.

That was Steve Smith of the Panthers. If he hadn't been injured the Panthers probably would have made the playoffs and who knows how far they would have gone?!

Walsh wanted him because he needed someone intelligent to run his offense.
