You can't reduce the game to one questionable call. If Pittsburgh scored, the Pats probably would have driven the next time. They had gone conservative on offense. They were running on first and second down and throwing on third. When they mixed up first down passes, they had no trouble moving the ball on the Steelers.
Normally the Pats don't go into the prevent D or O, so I was disappointed with them trying to run out the clock in the third quarter.
You have to hand it to Pittsburgh for not lying down despite all the turnovers.
Defense was horrific....
I don't think it would have changed the eventual outcome, but you are right about the FG call just killing any momemtum for the Steelers at that point. The Pats are a much more balanced team than the Steelers, and should handle the Eagles with no problem, IMO.
I agree, and I've often wondered how Cowher has retained his job for so long. He's a great coach, but the bottom line is his team's have blown too many opportunities in big games.
.....Just like all of the Braves fans here in Atlanta are used to seeing the visiting team celebrate winning playoff series here during the MLB playoffs at Turner Field.
Reminds me of Bobby Cox blowing games as the Atlanta Braves Manager during the postseason in October. Seems like Cowher and Cox are one in the same.
True. Brady had a spectacular and flawless game. I was hoping they'd throw deep today. I thought they could win that way. Those passes to Branch were picture perfect.
When they didn't go into the prevent O in the third, the play selection was perfect. The end around calls were brilliant.

Cowher has a lot of similiarities to Marty Shottenheimer, for whom he started coaching as an assistant when Marty was head coach in Cleveland. Great record in regular season, but his teams freeze up in the playoffs.
That's it? When will the Pats get the respect they deserve?!!

He should be--he's like Noshotinheimer. Some guys just aren't winners. It's in the DNA. The Steelers were making a major comeback it was very doable, and he threw the game away. I am still in disbelief.
I think it's time for Rush to fess up and admit he was wrong about McNabb being overrated (maybe he's done so, I don't listen to his show). McNabb was the victim for years of a poor receiving corps, but Andy Reid brought in TO and McNabb has shined, and he's led them to the Super Bowl without TO.
It is going up. 2 casinos are at 6.5 now and 2 are at 7.

I can't believe he didn't have Hines Ward in the game on that fateful red zone series. The play calling sucked-- no deception. He just doesn't got what it takes. That was the ballgame(I knew it at the time)... the fact that Cowher didn't understand that it was go big or go home.... do or die... is shocking. He really choked. The fact that he blew 5 AFC Championships at home is just a dealbreker. He is a nice guy, but he isn't the guy to win the whole thing. He'll never win the SB... the Steeler brass need to realize that and make the right moves.
Oh, I agree. McNab is quite good and his beloved Steelers blew it-- that was basically Cowher's fault.
