"Sounds like eye candy to cover up Piazza's true sexual orientation. Rumors are usually true."
The "rumors" about Piazza are based on absolutely zero evidence. Piazza has had several girlfriends, has talked about how he believes that pre-marital sex is a sin and thus goes to confession whenever he caves in to temptation, and is a Clinton-hating Republican. Now, perhaps the entire thing is an act, but the only thing that Piazza has ever done to make anyone even begin to doubt his sexual orientation is having not-very-manly hairstyles and facial hair, but by that rationale half of the MLB players would be gay.

Piazza's straight as an arrow.

As a lifelong Yankee fan, I was very favorable to Roger Clemens in several celebrated instances involving Piazza as a batter and as an instant batters' box dust bunny. Thanks to your post (and Clemens' defection to an easy retirement in the far easier league) I am beginning to see Piazza in a wholly new and more positive light. Thanks for the info.
It is good to know that Piazza is a patriot like Clemens.

Several (like 8 or 9) years ago I went to a spring training game of the Dodgers in Vero Beach Florida. Piazza played for the Dodgers at the time. In that small stadium everyone in the stands and on the field are pretty close to one another. Not far from me three beautiful women chatted with Piazza throughout the game, and one of them was clearly his girlfriend, as I could overhear her talking about their relationship.
Yesterday when I related this incident to a guy at work who adamantly maintains that Piazza is gay, he simply discounted it as unimportant. Some guys are deeply invested in Piazza's supposed gayness. Why that is I haven't the faintest idea.
