Drum and Bugle corps season starts about June, ends at the big Drum Corp International show in August. But, we practiced from about October through August. In the summer, we practiced every day from about 9 until dark. Then we toured around the country for weeks at a time.
Here's the group I was in

WOW -- how gorgeous and unique! I missed this one -- a lovely bouquet of blossoms for our President's big day:
Girls from the Mobile Azelia Trail from Mobile, Ala., march in President Bush's Inaugural Parade Thursday, Jan. 20, 2005, in Washington.

I was in Drum and Bugle corps after highschool bands.Which corp? Would be nice to see Cadets, BD, Santa Clara, etc. do a half-time show at the Super Bowl. Be a nice change compared to the garbage they put on now.

Thanks! Congratulations to your nephew ... I know it is a very worthwhile program. I went to summer school at Tech in 1983, I think, and considered applying for the Corps there.

She still looks so fresh and lively, doesn't she OWF? Amazing endurance .. both of them. And they still have 9 Balls to attend! Running on pure joy, I'm sure.

Won't do me a bit of good to find another vet...I'm in Maryland...nearly EVERYBODY's a Democrat! :-D Even my piano teacher started a tirade last week when I went for my lesson.

Thanks, a very nice end to a horrid start with the street commies.
Between the TV commentary and the unwashed who showed up to protest, I almost turned the whole thing off.
You have such great dedicated young people...
Then on the other hand you have slimes that want to ruin solemn moments under the guise of freedom of speech.

I started out in the Milwaukee Conntinental Youth band, when bands starting dying, we all went to the Marquis, from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Ended up in the Anaheim Kingsman. Was in the flag line. Aged out in 1978. Made it to DCI a couple times. Is that photo showing up?

Norah O'Donnell's piece on MSNBC, a retrospective of George W. Bush over the years, just included an extended clip of that "pop quiz" that reporter gave him back in 2000.

You know, I always thought of starting a drum corp thread, just to see if any other freepers were in.
