Read all about them in......Unholy Alliance....
*********************************
Unholy Alliance by David Horowitz Regnery Publishing, Inc.; ISBN: 089526076X Hardcover - 256 pages (September 2004) In this tour de force on the most important issue of our time, David Horowitz, confronts the paradox of how so many Americans, including the leadership of the Democratic Party, could turn against the War on Terror. He finds an answer in a political Left that shares a view of America as the Great Satan with Americas radical Islamic enemies. This Left, which once made common cause with Communists, has now joined forces with radical Islam in attacking Americas defenses at home and its policies abroad. From their positions of influence in the university and media culture, leftists have defined America as the root cause of the attacks against it. In a remarkable exploration of the Mind of the Left, Horowitz traces the evolution of American radicalism from its Communist past to its anti-war present. He then shows how this Left was able to turn the Democratic Party presidential campaign around and reshape its views on the War on Terror.
Horowitzs Unholy Alliance, writes John Haynes, the noted historian of American Communism, is an insightful, brilliant examination of the mental world of the radical left. Horowitz shows how todays radicals, unwilling to reflect on the internal flaws that destroyed Marxism-Leninism from within, have embraced an all-consuming nihilism in its place. This has led them to a hatred of American institutions and a solidarity with Islamic terrorists that makes the radical left more properly regarded as dangerous than loony. Unholy Alliance is an eye-opening book that should unsettle conventional assumptions and reveals why intellectuals and political leaders who applaud Michael Moore are no laughing matter. As Harvey Klehr, author of Venona: Decoding Soviet Espionage in America, writes, The world Communist movement may be moribund, but its habits of mind and ideological fantasies have not disappeared. This is a fascinating and depressing account.

Listening to the shills on both MSNBC and CNN urging this President to work with the dems and be the uniter he professed to be in 2000.
How many times can this man turn his cheek and why do they continue to blame him for the tone in Washington? Look at the message Kerry and his ilk took to the inaguration and Pelosi's comment speaks volumes of the impossibility of reaching these partisan hacks
"Pelosi used the inaugural as a fund-raising tool. In a statement, she said, Personally, I dont feel much like celebrating. So Im going to mark the occasion by pledging to do everything in my power to fight the extremist Republicans destructive agenda.
In an e-mail to Democratic supporters, she sought donations to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, to tell President Bush that party time is over.

LOL... this answer guy...
He just reminded me of Chris Farley in Black Sheep, when he was at the music/rally when he started fumbling for a line. I was waiting for him to shout, "Kill whitey!".

Much as I dislike Bill Kristol (and lots of people are aware of my many suspicions about him) I must also be fair and say that the speech genuinely moved him.
At the end of the panel before Brit signed off he was talking about how he and Peggy Noonan both have 19-year-olds, and that the section of the speech calling them to serve, to look to the military for examples of honor and sacrifice, was very touching, and above politics. He got all choked up when he was talking, and Brit had to rescue him.

There's a little red wine in the "juice" recipe used.....mmmmFreedom onion soup MUST be made with just a bit of red wine. You must also sample the wine while the soup is heating up. :)

I know. The violence and injustice those poor animals had to face just so they could have a coat in this warm weather. Have they not heard of global warming? And obviously the one woman does not have any math skills. 5 people, PLEASE. :)

"Just tuned in to c-span2 to hear the announcement that Cynthia McKinney is trying to join the protestors but can't get through the check point."
That's hysterical! What is not hysterical is CSPAN's lack of coverage of this historical event. I've had it with them and just sent them the following email (for whatever good it will do (which is nothing)).
I cannot believe you've allowed the anti-Bush protestors to drone on for this long. There are pro-Bush protestors, as well - - why didn't you give them some air time??? This is a historical day in our nation's history and it would be appropriate to hear both sides of the so-called 'protestors'. But, of course, you've only chose to cover those who spew hatred of our nation.
For whatever reason, you also chose not to cover the pre-Inaugural events as you did 4 years ago and which we thoroughly enjoyed. For those of us who have never been and will probably never be able to attend an Inauguration, it made us feel like we were there and taking part in the nation's history.
My family and I are very disappointed in CSPAN and will be turning to other channels to get our news coverage.

:D! Thank you MeekOne. That's nice.
Not sure about you, but I sure wish I could have been there today, just to see and hear all the events.
Have been following the live webstream from CBS Newsfeed, the dining area and string quartet was just too lovely. I kept wanting to watch them sit down and eat, but the video display failed. Now I see some people standing outside somewhere or in a lobby of a building and there are helicopters buzzing overhead.

I can't bring myself to watch it now. I saw a couple of minutes earlier and it turned my stomach.
They sure hate this country, and all that that implies.
