On the day before his second inauguration, President Bush and first lady Laura Bush, obscured, view the Declaration of Independence during a visit to the National Archives in Washington. The Bush's also viewed the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and George Washington's first inaugural address, as they began a day of private and public celebrations. They are escorted by U.S. Archivist John Carlin at right.

They are just so................SWEET together!
I can't WAIT until the balls tomorrow night!!!
What a great thing to do before his second Inauguration! Visiting our historic documents.
Last week, I was honored to be invited to have lunch with Michael Graham (EMAL 630 AM, on for 3 hours before Rush here in the DC area) and a bunch of his invited guests. Sitting across the table from me was a young lady who works at National Archives and I had a neat time asking her all kinds of questions when Michael had to leave for a taping of "Crossfire".
One thing I'll never forget. She said that THE picture of the Iwa Jima statue, hangs in her office. Wowser.
I am so jealous - being around all that old paper. I love our historic documents and would probably pay someone to let me work there!
