Elected members of Democrat party must be obligated to enter into the Clone Mode and rant the same old leftover partylines. Party loyalty, rather than loyalty to principles, is a mafioso type of leftist thingy.

Obama would do better to pick-up where Bill Cosby's admonishing speech left off rather than lowering himself to pick-up stale stuff.

Seems like we're going to get a parade of gasbags in the Senate next week on this issue!

"There are a number of Democrats not on the committee that want to have a chance to debate her nomination a couple of hours," said Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

do you get to come home (US) occasionally to shake off the anti-American viruses? Are you listening in today or working?

late reply I know! I was working this afternoon so I had to follow the end of the hearing in chunks on FR. (Then I went to see Team America) I'm actually British so this is home :-)

Is it just me that finds it amusing that the party of equality is the most virulently racist. If Dr. Rice or Mr. Gonzales had been white or liberal, he would have never attempted this crap. Because they were conservative minorities who don't kiss their *ss it was OK to demean and belittle them.

Affirmative action does wonders to speed up the process. Obama is being groomed to run for president in the event the Republicans ever put Condi Rice on the ticket.

Title: Statement on the Nomination of Condoleeza Rice on the Nomination of Condoleezza Rice to be the Next Secretary of State
Location: Washington, DC
Date: 11/16/2004

STATEMENT OF SENATOR JON S. CORZINE ON THE NOMINATION OF CONDOLEEZZA RICE TO BE THE NEXT SECRETARY OF STATE

Washington, DC-Condoleezza Rice is an honorable and experienced person. That said, she has stood with the president and an administration that has chosen to end 50 years of bipartisan consensus on foreign policy replacing it with an ideologically-driven, go-it-alone approach: an approach that has cost the nation dearly in lives and a treasured reputation. The United States needs a pragmatic, effective foreign policy that strengthens our alliances, develop global strategies for winning the war on terrorism, halt nuclear proliferation in places such as Iran and North Korea, and deliver a real exit strategy for Iraq. The next Secretary of State must also address global problems such as HIV-AIDS and climate change and confront immediately the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. The administration has a lot to answer for, and I look forward to Dr. Rice's confirmation hearings to discuss these issues.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: March 22, 2004

SENATORS URGE PRESIDENT TO ASK CONDOLEEZA RICE TO TESTIFY BEFORE 9/11 COMMISSION

New revelations from former White House aide Richard Clarke underscore need for Rice to testify; Clinton officials expected to testify this week that they gave urgent warning to Rice about Qaeda threat

Byrd, Kennedy, Schumer, Clinton, Lautenberg, Corzine, Dodd and others rebut White House rationale for keeping Rice from testifying publicly before the 9/11 Commission

A group of US Senators today wrote to the President to urge him to ask Condoleezza Rice, the national security adviser, to publicly testify before the commission investigating the 9/11 attacks. The National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States is expected to hear testimony from top officials in both the Bush and Clinton Administrations this week. Senators Robert Byrd, Edward Kennedy, Charles Schumer, Hillary Rodham Clinton, Frank Lautenberg, Jon Corzine, Christopher Dodd and others (Feinstein) signed the letter to the President.
