I started out reading this thinking, wow, here's the ostrich, haven't heard from her lately, wonder what she's going to moan and rage about today. Then I thought, wow, her way of expressing herself is as grating in print ("gazillionaire", etc) as it is on screen. Then I thought, hey, wait, she's really got something here. She must be trying to get back on Fox News by coming up with some good dirt on the RATs.

But by the time I got to the end of the article I had stopped thinking of the ostrich and focused totally on what it is the RATs are up to in California (as elsewhere) and how hideously cruel and mean-spirited they are.

In the name of ideology, they want to deny young children the only thing that will help them get ahead in this country.

They are beyond scumbags. They are the scum that forms on top of scum. They are the scum of the scum of the scum. How can they sleep at night. They are disgusting sickening disgusting human beings. Total, total scumbags.

I teach middle school kids. When they speak a language other than English at home they have to work VERY hard at the core classes. Teaching them only in Spanish is dooming them to a life in the service class. Buena suerte estudiantes.

Right on!!! My father-in-law, son of Italian immigrants, pretty much paints the same picture. It was no different back in the 1920's either. Italian was spoken at home, but English was spoken at school. It was amazing that he learned to communicate well in the latter, considering he and his brothers were all shipped off to an orphanage when their mother died.
