If this is true, people who leak this type of info, should be prosecuted and locked up, they may be jeopardizing the lives of our troops in enemy territory.

And if Hersh is spreading false rumors, just to make sure that we don't go into Iran, appropriate action should be taken against him too.

It's high time that we put national security as top priority and prosecute those who reveal classified information or those who try to give aid and comfort to the enemy.

I don't know if some, all or none of what the article says is true, but Hersh himself admits that the motivation is to keep us from doing what we need to do, when we need to do it.

>>>If this is true, people who leak this type of info, should be prosecuted and locked up<<<

First let me stipulate that Hersh is a leftie dumbsquat.

On the other hand, he may be serving a useful purpose for the Bush administration in throwing a scare into the mullahs in Iran.

Yep an attack is a high possibility; anyone looking at the situation with their illegal clandestine nuclear development can't possibly help but think that either the Israelis or the US will, sooner or later, take care of business.

So why leak bluff and bluster? Perhaps this is timed to help increase the anti-theocratic students and population in Iran that want a democratic revolution. We are told on several Iranian websites that the population is fed up sith the mullahs and is ripe for revolution. Indeed, pitched battles between the government and students with democracy seeking citizens at their side have taken place.

Perhaps, just perhaps, Hersh is unwittingly helping bring about a democratic Iran.

I'm not placing bets, but Seymore Hersh could be a useful idiot. It's not a big step from being an idiot to start with!

Give the information to Israel and let them take care of business. After all, a nuclear Iran will be a greater threat to Israel than us.

Imagine now that this report is NOT true, and considering all the usual "unnamed" sources, I won't be surprised if that is the case. All it will achieve is more anti-american resentment over yet another rumour, a big nothing. Somehow though, I think that anti-American sentiment is exactly what Seymour Hersch is after.

I like journalists that know everything there is to know about military operations. Where's Geraldo Rivera when you need him?

The Bush administration has been carrying out secret reconnaissance missions to learn about nuclear, chemical and missile sites in Iran in preparation for possible airstrikes there, journalist Seymour Hersh said Sunday.>

Well, I certainly hope so. Ignorance is NOT bliss when it comes to enemies. I hope the US has reconnaisance teams inside the mullah's tea parties, inside their weapons-filled "mosques," and inside their heads.

Seymour Hersh has proven himself to be a straight up liar and propagandist for the far Left; I would believe a word this man writes.

[Quoting CNN] "He [Seymour Hersh] said his information on Iran came from "inside" sources who divulged it in the hope that publicity would force the administration to reconsider."

This is treason. Bush is going to get this guy for this.

Sounds like more Clinton-holdover moles inside the Administration doing their thing, too. Anything to drag down the Administration and U.S. foreign policy.

Those slugbaits are right -- in one respect, this is very much like Vietnam. The drumbeat of opposition from the press corps has been incessant -- and now this.

This is interference with a top-secret (and probably codeworded) operation in a hot situation. I sincerely pray that Hersh goes to prison this time.

I say the administration used this guy to get out a story to put a scare into Iran. I bet they let him get a whiff of a fake, or mostly fake story knowing he'd leak it.

Well, as far as needing to do things, what evidence is there for attacking Iran, besides making neoconservatives in the Pentagon happy? Is there anything more than assertions that Iran is trying to develop nuclear weapons?

Gee, could it be any more obvious that his sources are guys like Michael Scheuer (I wouldn't be surprised if he were the main source); embittered former intelligence bureaucrats who are opposed to the Bush administration policy?
