The criteria used discounting that statement re: China is there were several manmade dams which collapsed (not a true natural disaster), causing floods and those deaths were totalled by adding the initial flood deaths to those subsequent who starved or died of disease. The criteria used to class the tsunami is the death toll of immediate deaths from the natural occurance of the environ, not including those subsequently attributable through starvation and disease, places it at number one.
