This cult indeed seems to be dangerous. They believe in the near apocalypse and let one of their children with a weak heart die because they don't believe in secular medicine. These are the typical people who one day will commit mass suicide together with their kids because something totally unimportant triggered it off. The police should get the kids out of there.

It's the local branch of an American cult called "Twelve Tribes" from Chattanooga.

I definitely believe in giving and taking medicine as it is needed, however, there are some more mainstream religions in which they don't believe in certain medicines (the Jehovah Witnesses?). Should we just go and round up their children? What about the Pentecostals who go to faith healers? Should we round them up too? What about the people who go to acupuncturists, or take herbs, or don't take their kid to the doctor because they have no medical insurance and they end up being sicker than they thought - should we round up all those kids too? The point is, what is the line? And even more so, the homeschooling official in Germany wasn't talking about just what goes on with one particular family. He was referring to ALL homeschooling families.
