Forecast on the Iraq Unpleasantness (ZOT!!! Revised forecast, dangerous electrical storms.)
Posted on 01/10/2005 7:48:02 AM PST by Donald Bass
This Week began with Steph interviewing Colin Powell, who is in Kenya for the signing of a Sudanese peace treaty. Powell is still dealing with the diplomatic details of rushing aid to the tsunami-battered Southeast Asian region. Predictably, he said US relief officials on the ground are doing a great job, but refused to guess what the final death toll will be -- though he did admit a final accurate estimate may be impossible.
The pleassantries ended when George turned to supposed coming Iraqi elections, including a prediction by one Iraqi official of "incipient civil war" along ethnic lines following the election. Powell started railing against insurgents as if they were in fact a unified "tairist" front -- ignoring the issue of a potential civil war between rival ethnic insurgent factions. George steered Powell back to saying that Sunnis must have a stake in the next Iraqi government, and he hopes to see a government that is freely elected, gives all ethnicities a voice, and establishes a solid police force/army. Zbigniew Brzezinski says 500,000 troops and $200 BILLION would be the minimum needed for success, and, assuming the position of dutiful Bush buttswab, Powell called Zbig a "naysayer" and began talking about drawing down forces.
Steph stepped up the heat, mentioning the TIME article about the Pentagon mulling a dirty war. Powell quickly said that he is not familiar with what the Pentagon is up to. Talk about an understatement.

that looks like a baby picture of the guy from the heavens gate ...You mean this guy? Good point! I don't remember where I nabbed that picture (found it in a Google image search some time back), so who knows if the baby is related. :-)

Well, I have two, both moved out..my son got married to his high school sweetheart this past August, after finishing William & Mary.
My daughter is still in community college, taking a two-year associate engineering program.
In spite of their father, they seem almost normal. :)

This guy is a good example of what liberals look like when they lock into the the hypno brain drivel of the Communist News Network talking points.

...lovely parting gift, a beautiful shrubbery.
I prefer to just say "NIE!" back at them, and keep the shrubbery for myself. "Cause you give them shrubbery, and next thing, they're asking for a little windy path, a garden gnome...
...a recount or sixteen...

LOL! You're right, I'd better keep a close eye on my garden gnomes. Although, some of these trolls closely resemble garden gnomes when it comes to intellect...

That site is a hoot! I jdid a quick google search on garden gnomes and that popped up, so that's where I got the pic from.
I don't have gnomes in my yard, but some of my neighbors have cherubs and frogs. Liberate the cherubs!
