Too bad reporters don't have to "show competency" before putting pen to paper...

Oh, man...could you imagine? That would be one, thin newspaper.

Previous reports were that it was a ".380-caliber pistol" and it was legally owned, of course....nicely registered by the benevolent guvmint.

"I told him to drop the knife and leave," Ngoc said. "Every time he pushed my wife, I backed up to another room.

The reporter also likes it because he was backed into a corner...he tried to retreat and didn't have the opening til they were in the back room.

But this couple should get the reward money...this incident closed their store, and he's had to install a security barrier, etc. He removed a thief and rapist from the streets and they endured this incident where she was nearly killed. He wasn't looking to do so, but he removed a menace from the streets...far more effectively than a mere tip would have...
