The F-16 and the B-1 are still the sexiest planes in the air.I agree. But I also hold a warm part of me for the A10. Comparing the F-16 to the A10 is similar to a contrast between an Aston Martin to a Mini Cooper. Both work extrmely well given their tasks and capabilities.

I'm rather partial to the F-8 Crusader...

Sexiest airplane (no longer in the air but you can walk up and touch one) has to be the SR 71 and its predecessors. We saw the M-21 and its drone, the D-21B at the Museum of flight in Seattle over Christmas. This airplane was designed in the late 1950s and had some of the first stealth technology.

Comparing the F-16 to the A10 is similar to a contrast between an Aston Martin to a Mini Cooper Except the A-10 is more like a flying HumVee.

If your F-16/A-10 analogy is comparing speeds. . .that is okay. . .however, when it comes to firepower, comparing the F-16 to an A-10 is like comparing a pop-gun and a couple of fire-crackers with an elephant gun and sticks of TNT.
