Hi, My grandfather was on the next boat getting ready to hit the beach. He watched from that boat history being made. Told me how hard it was to keep the flag up and the men that were lost that day keeping old glory flying. Thank you for your sacrifice and your service, God Bless You!!

My father was on the beach. I still have his Spearhead book, which was given to all survivors of the 5th Marine Division. One of my most cherished possessions! The picture shown is the picture in the book.
