The highest BAL I ever witnessed was .435. If I had to make the call without a test I would have said borderline, but under the legal limit of .10 (at the time). The guy passed every field sobriety test with ease. This incident made me a believer that the legal limit can be very different, for different people.

A friend of mine had alcohol poisoning and was in the hospital for having a little over 0.3.

You have failed the field sobriety test when the cop asks you to take one. Nobody passes - everyone blows.

P.s. Go straight to blowing after your 20 minutes. You are just giving evidence if you take the field sobriety test

One kid we had on probation had to take a BA test everyday to show the probation officer he hadn't been drinking. One day he came in and the officer who ran the machine figured the boy had not had anything to drink. He blew a .40.

Not bad for a kid. He had been drinking since he was a young child, his worthless parents gave him booze to shut him up. The sad thing, the kid was a talented young baseball player. Naturally the booze won out, he dropped out of school, etc. Sad.
