The state of "modern" medicine offered by "real" doctors is in a constant state of change. At one time, long ago, "modern" medicine opened the human body without sterilized equipment and in less than sanitary environments. At one time, "modern" medicine bled people with leaches as treatments for diseases. At one time, "modern" medicine thought it reasonable to perform lobotomies on mental patients.

Not long ago, "modern" medicine did not believe that a virus could live inside the human stomach and cause ulcers. Currently, "modern" medicine believes that most schoolage boys are inflicted with something called ADD or ADHD and require regular doses of anphetamines. This "disease" is most prevalent within the environs of "modern" medicine in the U.S.

Don't be so quick to label others as quacks when your own profession's history is littered with what would now acknowledged as quackery.

uh, sarge it's not a virus. it's a type of bacterium, Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). that aside, your point is well-taken; we can't deny that chiros have something that works for some people, esp people who've been poorly served by traditional medicine. and we can't deny that modern science is sclerotic when accepting new paradigms (bacteria cause ulcers, inflammation causes heart disease). what i don't see is much explanation as to why it works, so we can study it better. most of the "literature" is garbage, with poorly-executed studies and financial conflicts of interest.

Some still do. I find it laughable that do medical doctors think they are Gods. In fact, ask a doctor if a PhD should be allowed to be called "doctor", most will say no. Even funnier are lawyers who use the silly title "esquire", meaning gentleman, in a vain attempt to give lawyers a title of nobility. They must have hated the founding fathers when they prohibited titles of nobility in the Constitution.

Is your point that real doctors are quacks, as well as chiropractors? Or is your point that engineers are quacks just like chiropractors?
