But of course--when my hip & back get gimpy, my chiropractor fixes me right up with one $25 office visit and no drugs. I'm in & out in 15 minutes & that's allowing for time spent chewing the fat. Medical establishment can't have that.

When I developed serious low back problems, my orthopedist, who was postiviely crestfallen that surgery was not indicated, tossed me a 'script for Celebrex and told me to knock off the exercise. Luckily, I was smart enough to investigate alternatives with a chiropractor. Saved my life (maybe literally). I can see why the Sawbones are so upset.

Medical establishment can't have that. Yup. But they're going to militate for insurance coverage, fill the insurance regulatory boards with chiropractors, and set the insurance schedule for $75 office visits. Just like the MDs.

I have to agree with you. The way a South Florida Chiropractor explained it to me is that the body (brain) has an "innate" nature to heal itself without overdosing on medications and surgery. Of course the medical establishment of magic pill magicians and scalpel wielding warrior want nothing to do with preventative medicine. What's especially disturbing for Universities is to imply that healing happens by God's design. Heaven forbid such truth be told in an American University.
