I wonder if Time realizes what they are saying about Walter Cronkite (KB2GSD)?

The Hams do a lot of good. I'd say reading Time is a much more embarassing hobby.

Bloggers in general have become the new phenomenon of the media, one the MSM has failed to come to grips with. The idea of the MSM spinning stories in the view of political left leaning journalist and the power that they had over the opinion of the public as truth because after all the media wouldn't lie right? um yeah has come to a ugly end. The death of one hour evening news broadcast by stuffy liberal mouth pieces like Dan Rather twisting old news (to bloggers) carries no weight except in the eyes of other liberals. Blogging is the new MSM, long live the MSM.

Gezzz, how timely. TIME it seems have embarrassed themselves once again, as one of the first communications out of the tsunami disaster were a group of American and other amateur radio operators, or (HAMS) that happened to be in the area for a event station, (event station I think).

Apparently TIME has failed to see these stories all over the Internet

As governments and relief organizations attempt to gauge the scale of death and devastation from the December 26 South Asia earthquake and tsunami and to aid the victims, Amateur Radio operators throughout the stricken region are offering their services as emergency communicators.

I too am a Ham, General Class. It's a lot of fun too. Talk to Art Bell, among other notable hams occasionally.

Been conducting world wide, round tables before the Internet went public.

Posted for all:
IT is really refreshing to know that there are so many "Freepers" that are also Amateur Radio Operators. As a group we represent a large factor in this media. Best regards to all "Hams". Bill K2AFE licensed since 4/1952

Hey, I built a Heathkit Shortwave radio on my wedding night, and I am NOT embarrassed about it. I collect stamps, too.

Nasty LTE sent to time.com. Extra class myself. One of the lines was, the day will soon come when MSM employees have to speak in hushed tones about their profession.
