Looks like a piece of 2x6 driftwood from an old dock. What does NASA have to say about it?
Not only that piece of ancient ex-petrified wood, but it's sitting in a lake bottom.
Looks like my flagstone patio! Look at the flat rocks neatly fit together with cement between them!
Oak, walnut or white pine?
Didn't we evolve from "plank"-ton?
There ought to be many other pics. Look at the tracks, it drove right over it.
NASA basically tosses the pics up raw on their site as they come in...by the thousands.
What is odd to me is the split in the middle tword the left edge. Just like if you nail a piece of wood with a spike and it splits.
You scoundral, you beat me to it.
Probably something from the lander that was held on with an o-ring that got too cold and let go just before landing.
LOL! Need some wood? It sure does look like wood, though.
I was visiting the DUmmy site, just for spits and giggles, and one poster had quite a lengthy post about JK and President Bush in the debates, stating that JK had exposed President Bush as a liar about his lumber company twice, intimating, I guess, that JK had sure gotten one over on the President, thereby winning the debate. I loved President Bush's response!
Backwoods cigar?
None. In my professional opinion, I'd have to say that it's probably Kiawe.
That's the 2x4 the martians smacked Shiela Jackson Lee in the head with to make her so stupid.
Natalie?
That's what it looks like to me too.
But it does look totally out of place with the rest of the scenery.
It would be nice to see it further enlarged.
Noahs Ark was actually an interplanetary space ship. It briefly touched down on several planets before depositing the seeds to human life, originating on the garden planet of heaven... on a really nice place Noah was called to terraform... a planet we know as earth.
they left a few sticks of wood on Mars... leftovers from a barbeque....
heh heh...
I'm more curious about what's floating in the water behind it ;)
DAMN! I wanted to get in the first obligatory Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-MARS) reference!
