BOSTON - Massachusetts was the only state in the nation to lose residents in 2004, U.S. Census data shows.

The state lost an estimated 3,852 people, or about 1.1 percent, in the last year, despite continuing growth in immigration to the Bay State, the Boston Sunday Globe reported.

And Romney says they're just looking for warmer climates. Yeah, right. PA used to lose population and I think NY and MI did too along with MA. Now it stands alone. Bad gov't and overtaxation eventually kills the goose that lays the golden eggs...

Anyone see a problem with those numbers? I guaranfrickintee you that Massachusets doesn't have so few people that 3,852 would be 1.1%.

Their population is at least 6 million. 1 percent would be 60,000.

Well, what do they expect with Kennedy and Kerry taxing them to death. Why anyone would ever want to live in MA is beyond me. The weather sucks, lousy business climate, and high taxes.

Sorry, but Teddy Kennedy spends most of his time at his compound in Florida, not in Hyannisport. We here is Massghanistan see less of that fat b@st@rd than the U.S. Senate sees of John Forbe sKerry.

Have to admit I may become one of them. I'm kind of tired of living in MA, 6 months of winter is no fun if you like sailing. And the job climate is not the way it used to be, they have driven most of the companies that made up the state economy out of town.

Yes, you're right. Taxachussetts is still the only state to loose population this year. If I lived there, I'd probably move too.

The reporter got confused about the difference between real people and registered Democrats who vote each election.

And where did they move? My guess is New Hampshire, explaining the flip of that state to Dems this year.

They seek to escape Liberalism than bring it with them to corrupt a new state.

Actually you're probably quite right about that. They are widening Rt 3 which is one of the major arteries used by NH to MA commuters. It's almost done, so people may be headed north.

The bad news is that when everyone except the two of them has left the state, Massachusetts will still have two Senators (Kennedy and Kerry).

"Why anyone would ever want to live in MA is beyond me."

I love it here. I have the city, the country, and mountains all within driving distance, lots of small but active towns, great neighborhoods--in other words, the same things most people in this country love about their states. The taxes stink, the dems run everything, but I like it here and refuse to let them push me out.

The Founding Fathers spinning in their graves are just about ready to lift off and go orbital. The liberals don't like the government stench they created in MA so they're moving to NH to stink up that place - which is exactly why it was such a stupid idea for the Free State Project people to pick NH.
