Statement from Dino Rossi

Bellevue, WA – Today Dino Rossi issued the following statement:

“This is supposed to be the season for Christmas and Hanukkah, not campaigns, but this year, unfortunately, we don’t yet have a governor-elect.

“Like many people across Washington, I’m very concerned about the integrity of this election process, and I’m also very concerned that not all votes are being treated equally.

“Earlier this week, I asked the Supreme Court not to change the rules of the recount. On Tuesday, however, the Supreme Court did change the recount rules, and allowed previously rejected ballots to be reconsidered.

“Many hundreds of previously rejected ballots in King County were counted, but there are hundreds more of wrongfully rejected ballots that remain uncounted. We have affidavits so far from 300 legal voters across Washington whose ballots were wrongfully rejected. The rules were changed for a select group of ballots in King County, but not for many other ballots all across the state. That is wrong. If the rules can be changed for a select group of voters in King County, then the new rules should apply to everyone, equally.

“Under the new rules established by the Supreme Court, if your vote was wrongfully thrown out through no fault of your own, your vote should be counted. Whether your signature was mistakenly challenged or whether you’re a member of the military who didn’t receive your ballot on time, your vote should count. Anything else is undemocratic.

“To make sure that every wrongfully disenfranchised voter has the opportunity to have his or her vote counted, we are going to take some time to follow up with county canvassing boards across Washington and ask those boards to reconsider wrongfully rejected ballots.

“I know many Washingtonians are hoping this will end soon, but I’m also sure that people across this state want a clean election and a legitimate governor-elect. At this point, we have neither.

“Finally, Terry and my children and I want to wish everyone a happy holiday season, and I again want to thank the people of Washington for their kind-hearted support.”

You know, it's neat - I have a rare video tape of President Reagan back in September 1987 (just a couple months before his historic "Tear down this wall" speech) when he spoke before Concerned Women for America - and he points the dangers of a judiciary that legislates from the bench rather than interprets the law as is.

In a previous post (in a different thread) I stated that progressive leftist secular humanism is the greatest internal threat this country has; and I stand by that statement. However, a close second would have to be judges who create new law or disregard existing law for political reasons, since this is the venue where the left seems to be building their power (reference Roe v. Wade as an early example of this trend of creating laws and legal principles - these penumbrae - from mid air).

So it's up to us to clean out these bums who choose to ignore the truth or rewrite laws that they don't agree with politically, etc.

Keep in mind my fellow Freepers that it won't matter one wit if the entire Congress and Senate were Republicans and implemented into law everything we want because the courts can simply call the new laws "unconstitutional" and overturn what they don't like.

You are ignorant of Rossi's quals to call him dung and a loser. "Happy holidays" is an expression that's been used for decades before the politically correct crowd got a microphone.

He opened the letter with Christmas and Hanukkah, I don't think he was being overly PC.

I was heartened by Dino's statement.

Good to see that he's not rolling over. The local leftist 'talking babes' in CA are insisting that only this last recount was official, and somehow the previous were just 'trial runs', or whatever they want to call them. I would love to see Bitzy and Betsy and Janie Lu have to eat crow for a week, if Rossi is finally declared the winner.

In the Washington Soviet Socialist Republic, some votes are more "equal" than others.

If that's so, why do you want to pass it on in secret? Why don't you post it here (if you do, be sure to post it in a way that would not make you vulnerable to a libel judgment).

I meant to vote but forgot. I think my vote ought to count.

I also meant to have my family move with me to Washington - but we forgot to. I want their votes to be fully counted as well.

My unborn children meant to vote - why can their future votes not count.

I have just found all of their ballots - they voted for Rossi - and I will mail them to the Secretary of State for immediate inclusion in the election.

“Under the new rules established by the Supreme Court....
I am more amazed every time I see another brazen example of how the judiciary branch, arguably the most corrupt branch (see: New Jersey, California, 9th Circus, et al), has seized power across this nation.

He's right the WASC screwed this one up

First .. you don't change the rules after the election

And most of all .. you don't change the rules for ONLY one county

Either it applies across the WHOLE State or it doesn't

Cheers and best wishes to Washington Governor-Elect Dino Rossi!!!!

Don't let the democrats get away with manufacturing enough votes to steal this election.

We have affidavits so far from 300 legal voters across Washington whose ballots were wrongfully rejected.

Someone on another thread speculated that the GOP let the RATS knot their own noose by making a public spectacle of "every vote must count," knowing, perhaps, that they also had a stack of rejected GOP ballots to trot out at the right time. I sure hope the GOP is that clever.
