I was just thinking about the laser incidents. Could it be the bad guys are trying to figure out how fast and how good we are at figuring out the location of the laser source??
There is big concern about MANPADs and quite a few being smuggled into the country. IF they were planning a coordinated attack on airplanes they might be practicing their aiming mechanisms and their getaways.
You make a good point ... (BTW, what's MANPADs? - pardon my ignorance).
