For some reason the story wasn't on line. I read it in the actual paper but when I went on line the story wasn't linked on their site. I did a google search and there it was. Pretty sad way kill yourself. Between this story and the family who was murdered, in a way it's a relief that there isn't some jersey jihad going down.

Re: Haslet beheading...

First reports stated that BOTH the head and body were found in the woods. How does that square with this version as a 'suicide'?? Anyone on the ground, there, with friends in the local LEO?

Walker Field Airport Evacuated Because of Suspicious Luggage (CO - 1/17/05)

Monday, January 17, 2005

The Walker Field Airport terminal was evacuated and an incoming flight was delayed Sunday evening after a passenger was stopped for allegedly carrying a water balloon in his suitcase that was mistaken for hazardous materials.

Around 5:30 p.m. Sunday the airport evacuated two dozen people and delayed the de-boarding of a plane after the Transportation Safety Authority found a suspicious item in a man’s suitcase....

Troopers Search for Stolen Cruiser (Groveland Twp, MI - 1/17/05)

GROVELAND TOWNSHIP, MICHIGAN (AP) -- Police are looking for a man who apparently drove off in a Michigan State Police cruiser. Police say the handcuffed suspect climbed into the front seat of a state police car in Oakland County early Monday morning and took the vehicle.

The car is equipped with an assault rifle and shotgun. Police say the man should be treated as armed and dangerous.

Police have recovered the police car not far from the state police post, but the 30-year-old Auburn Hills man with a record of auto theft remains at large. It's unclear whether the police weapons are still in the car.

I hope the ice storm isn't bad. Snow is workable, ice is not.

We're expecting that same ice storm. It'll be intermittant today with the bulk of it arriving tonight. If it's real bad, we'll have more power outages :(

His live webcasts, followed by question-and-answer sessions, last up to two hours.

Why are those who have the power to stop this fanatic from broadcasting not doing something to silence him once and for all? With all the technology we have today, certainly he can be tracked and his location pinpointed, or do they already know or are they possibly monitoring him and whoever is associating with him before he makes his final (unbeknownst to him) broadcast?

The mention that the father was being taunted and threatened in an online chat room for his anti-Islamic postings, gave me a chill up my spine. One can easily make the assumption that that is how those who murdered this family found their address.

I'm certain the thought of being cyber-tracked has occurred to any number of us who post on this thread and at other websites. We must all be vigilant in our everyday lives. These people have no consciences nor do they place any value on their own lives. Like you, the thought of what that family went through is numbing. More numbing is the fact that the killer(s) has not been apprehended and this is a possibly a crime involving Muslim vs. Christian beliefs right here in America.

They can easily get student visas and stay for as long as they like, with little or no notice from law enfourcement.

They may be here for the sole purpose of studying how to kill us for all we know.

Good morning MamaD. Freezing rain here - ack! How is you weather? Do you have a generator in case the power goes out?

They said his "talks" are via PalTalk. I went to their website a couple of months ago and it's registration only. Wish I could find a back door to read only, but, no luck. I would assume the authorities are monitoring PalTalk. What lead me there a couple of months ago was I saw it mentioned/Linked on a few ME forums.

The poor Egyptian family that was recently murdered in New Jersey (?) was also threatened on PalTalk. Hmmm.

You're welcome Cindy. Homies easily blend into our society (working as furniture deliverers, carpetlayers, pizza guys, fast food workers, etc.).

You're right about that. Too many of them just plain unsafe for the road and too many of the drivers in too big a hurry to get to their destinations (at quite a cost in damages done, and in some cases lives taken):

I had missed that. So, initially they say he was found in the woods and now they say he was found in a parking lot? That doesn't add up.

From the link to your first article:

"After the Transportation Safety Authority searched his bags, they found a plastic container containing a liquid, secured with a plug and what appeared to be wires sticking out of the end, Ferguson said.

The man carrying the item told investigators it was a Water Wienie."

I googled "Water Wienie" and there is a large inflatable item named Water Wienie that a couple of kids can sit on and ride in the water. Looked way too big for a suitcase, even folded up, unless there wasn't much else in the suitcase. Also is quite colorful. I don't think it would be mistaken for a water balloon.

Also, Wham-o (remember them?) used to make a small, hand held, toy called a Water Wienie. Also doubt it would be mistaken for a water balloon as it obviously looks like a toy. Also, no "wires" sticking out of it and no longer being made/sold by Wham-o.

I realize the article said the authorities decided there was no threat, just sounded odd to me.

No generator here, and it is snowing like crazy here right now. Weatherman forecasting early 40's mid-week, so it will be melted quickly if the forecast holds true.

I've come across a bunch of those "registration only" sites and I opt to stay clear of them. I'm sure the feds have these people monitored and hopefully the person(s) who engaged the New Jersey people in hateful religious banter and then killed them will be found and questioned if he/they is/are still in the US.
