BERLIN (AP) - Police made 14 arrests in raids of apartments and mosques in five German states Wednesday in a crackdown on a criminal Islamic extremist organization suspected of aiding terrorists, authorities said.
About 700 officers conducted the raids, which were the culmination of a long-term investigation against 20 people suspected of operating a criminal network based in the southern city of Ulm, according to prosecutors in Munich, where authorities coordinated the probe.....

US military moving troops to Bulgaria...what's up???????

Troops in Bulgaria continued....
Sofia. The stationing of the US Armed Forces in Bulgaria will be different from what we have done until now in Europe. This way of cooperation can be used in the context of NATO, said US General James Jones, NATO's supreme allied commander, at a meeting with Bulgarian Minister of Defense Nikolay Svinarov, reported a FOCUS News Agency journalist. Gen. Jones is on a two-day visit to Bulgaria at the invitation of Chief of General Staff of the Bulgarian Army, Gen. Nikola Kolev.
Gen. Jones said that the Strategic Review of Defense, which Bulgaria had carried out, was a great success. The countries in the region should unite in a mission similar to NATOs Mediterranean mission so that the Black Sea region could become a region of stability, he said.
After a year and half the Bulgarian forces look much more different and Bulgaria has a totally different place in the European security system, asserted Minister Svinarov.
At the end of January working groups of the two Ministries will discuss the possibilities for cooperation. Tomorrow, Gen, Jones will visit airbase Bezmer, the naval port of Bourgas and a firing ground in Novo Selo. It is not clear yet which naval base will be chosen by the USA Atiya base or Bourgas base.

Thank you kindly exlibris. There is a town called Melbourne in the state of Washington....as per Mapquest it is a 3 hr 18 min. drive south to the area where this school is located. During this past year there have been more than a few incidents where uniforms were stolen. So the combination of uniform and "cop" like car really caught my attention in this story.
Your contribution as to the location for the registration for this vehicle adds more interest....considering the proven ability for AQ and their ilk to cross over into Washington state from Canada. Sure this could be just another wacky mentally ill person who likes to impersonate a police officer....but the specific info. regarding schools in the U.S. that was found in AQ possession is always in the back of my mind.
I dont get it? . . . had to double check to make sure I was still on TM
Do you have a link to FR thread?
I hate to have to go back through all my posts to find it, I'm sure I am in there.
I was responding to all4one regarding the CAR he was talking about: he said the license number may be WDY279.
I posted an AD for what could be that very car. The advertised car has that exact number as its registration number: WDY279. I had put asterisks beside the number to draw the readers attention to it, but they didn't show in the posted version.
See, above, all4ones response to me.
Thanks AD, been running around preparing for our -18 below weather, back now and catching up!
Just ran cross this: (This article includes a link to the November murder of yet another microbiologist in Northern South Dakota)
