Reality suggests otherwise. Hope springs eternal but judgements have to be based on reality. For democracy to flourish, a country has to have a common purpose and unity. Kurds and Sunnis do not show this. It appears that if this does not happen soon, a civil war will be the result. Will elections unify with a large majority of the population voting for a Shia theocracy? I doubt it seriously.
