I'd say that Mr. Rumsfeld has a certain McNamara-esque feature about him, in that he is trying to make a name for himself by doing things on the cheap.I'd say any comparisons between McNamara and Rumsfield are inane.
Having said that Rummy should not be sending out sutosigned letters of condolence.
