Some crops are native to the Americas, yet some upper class Egyptian mummies show traces of these crops--which had to be imported since they were not cultivated in Africa or Europe or Asia. Are you referring to "corn" (which in earlier centuries was also used to refer to wheat, etc., evidently depending on the context)?
The Pharaohs wouldn't bother to import corn. That's not it.
